If you’re following what the federal parties have promised during this spring’s election campaign, but are skeptical — you’re not alone.
A Nanos survey of 1,239 respondents conducted from April 1 to 3 found that only 48 per cent of Canadians trusted Prime Minister and Liberal leader Mark Carney to keep his campaign promises, while only 27 per cent trusted Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre to do so (the survey did not include any other party leaders).
Below are links to each of the national parties’ costed platforms. Unlike the Liberals, Conservatives and NDP, the Greens only released a partially costed platform.
So, how can you figure out the credibility of a party’s platform promises?
To help you, we put together a non-exhaustive — but very thorough — list of ways you can determine whether or not a party or party leader has contradicted their stance on any promise.
