It can be a headache trying to find clothing for the mehndi you have on the weekend or the Eid that’s coming up.
But more than that, these ornate garments can be expensive. Finding the right outfit for a multi-day event can be stressful.
While soaking up the sun, I headed to Little India on Gerrard Street East and peered into storefronts to see what spots you need to check out before your next party.
The Maharani Fashions at 1417 Gerrard St. E.
This location offers everything. It has sarees, individual dupattas, kids’ clothing, mens’ suits, casual kurtas and more.
Maharani Fashions also has a website, which lists the clothing options in its drop-down menus, but it doesn’t include the full catalogue or prices for everything. Some items are under $100, while fancier clothing sits around $150.
The Maharani Fashions is best to go to in-person for its full potential.

Sonu Saree Palace at 1420 Gerrard St. E.
This location has existed since 1979 and frequently has sales going on. Specializing in ethnic Indian and Pakistani fashion for both men and women, the store was featured by the Gerrard India Bazaar BIA as a home for culture, celebration and community.
From lehengas to traditional shoes and jewellery, this place has got you covered. They don’t have a website but they do have a Facebook account.

Maharaja FashionS at 1465 Gerrard St. E.
This location displays garments on mannequins that line the walls for full effect. The bright colours and different styles catch your eye as soon as you walk in.
Reviewers say this location offers affordable options, and many people online said they purchased multiple outfits from this store.
Maharaja doesn’t have a website, so you’ll need to go in-person to see the fabrics and designs, but you also find plenty of photos on Google before you head there.

Nucreation also has mens’ sherwanis and kurta pajamas, as well as a few kids’ suits.
This location has a website with a delivery option and a price range filter.
