The sun is out, and so should you!
Take advantage of this sun-filled week with events set in and out of the sun’s rays.
SAPPHIC BEACH DAY

Sapphic beach day: Sapphic shore, a QTBIPOC beach day, returns to Hanlan’s Point. From 11 a.m. to sunset, join in on the fun on July 4. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and get your toes in the sand amongst like-minded folks. Plus, this event will have free ferry rides, music, community-led activities and more, so make sure to invite all your fave sapphic friends of colour to join.
WALKING MUSICAL HISTORY

Walking musical history: Wanna learn Toronto music buying history? Go back to the days before streaming on July 8 from 7 to 8 p.m. for a walking tour of all the best past and present shops for buying music and books. Led by tour guides, historian Jeremy Hopkin and author Cam Gordon, meet outside of BMV’s downtown location to learn or reminisce on music history down Yonge Street.
DANCE ON WHEELS

Dance on wheels: Join Pushmakers for biweekly wheelchair dance classes. The organization will guide folks through practical movements you can use out in the streets and in the dance studio for all those looking to move with their wheelchairs. Classes will go until December on every second Wednesday, with the occasional Thursday classes. The first one is July 9 for those over 16 years old from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., so make sure to fill out their form for email reminders and/or to request accommodations.
STITCH AND CHAT

Stitch and chat: Join Toronto Knit and Crochet Collective for their next outdoor meetup. If you haven’t had a chance to snag tickets to their paid craft raves, then this is your next bet. They meet monthly at parks around the city, and next Thursday, July 9. Meet fellow crafty Torontonians at Christie Pitts from 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on their Instagram for details on where to meet.
