Things are getting hot and steamy with the 2026 Toronto municipal election.
Listen, I don’t make the rules, and I definitely don’t play into the drama, but when Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford go head-to-head, my ears can’t help but perk up.
There’s just something about local politics and people bickering that gets me amped, and I’m sure you feel it too. Plus, we can’t forget about all the ward drama happening too.
With that being said, we’ve got a few municipal and non-municipal events on this month’s list of public meetings to attend.
TORONTO CHINATOWN LAND TRUST
On Sept. 27, the Toronto Chinatown Land Trust is hosting its annual general meeting at Cecil Community Centre from 2 to 5 p.m. Community members will have the chance to vote on new board members and review how funding has been used in the last year. Not sure what a land trust is? Read this. I’ll actually be attending this meeting with our newest Documenter trainees, so please feel free to say hi! Not that I’m Olivia Chow, but like, what if one day I become mayor? Wouldn’t you want to say you met the mayor at a TCLT meeting?
WARD 13 CANDIDATE MEET-AND-GREET
On Oct. 1 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Moss Park, and on Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Regent Park, you can meet the candidates running for mayor, Ward 13 – Toronto Centre city councillor and school trustee. This is actually my ward, so you might catch me there too. Ward 13 has quite a few people running for city councillor, so this meet-and-greet could get kinda heated.
