How to get from Union Station to the FIFA Fan Festival at The Bentway

Why get lost when The Green Line has it mapped out for you?

The Green Line’s video producer, Anthony Lippa-Hardy, tested out how to get to the FIFA Fan Festival at The Bentway using the TTC’s new wayfinding system for the most direct route.

The system labels exits and key locations with simple letters and numbers (for example, A or A1).

From Union Station to The Bentway, he recorded each step for you, so you can focus on celebrating the World Cup in Toronto instead of worrying about getting lost.

Here’s how to follow Lippa-Hardy’s route:

1. Start at Union Station and head underground to enter the TTC.
2. Follow the signs for the streetcars, then board the 509. This streetcar will take you along the waterfront.
3. Get off at Fort York Boulevard and follow the signs along Fleet Street for the FIFA Fan Festival entrance.

After testing the route, Lippa-Hardy gave it an 8/10 for being comfortable and getting him there on time.

“The new lettering system can also help you navigate within stations, but keep in mind those letters are mainly posted near exits and entrances to guide you to street level,” he said. “Don’t expect to see the same letters throughout your trip, so make sure you’re following the mapped route and looking for FIFA signage to stay on course.”
