Vroom vroom, put those driving skills to use by volunteering with the West Neighbourhood House.
We’ve shared WNH’s callouts before, and we also did a video of knights fighting in Wynford Park in order to donate money to WNH.
WNH is looking for drivers for its Meals on Wheels program, which has operated since 1965 and serves Toronto’s southwest area.
According to its website, “Meals on Wheels delivers healthy meals directly to your door, six days a week to help clients live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.”
On average, WNH says it delivers 100 meals daily to its program customers. Those meals are delivered by volunteers.
“West Neighbourhood House depends on the generosity of volunteers to be able to provide this essential service to countless isolated seniors and others in our community,” it says on its website.
So, if you’d like to volunteer as a driver for WNH and the Meals on Wheels program, here’s what you need to know.
- You must have access to your own car to make the deliveries.
- WNH is looking especially for volunteers who are available on Wednesdays, but other days are welcome to be chosen as well.
- You’ll be needed to volunteer between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- To apply, visit WNH’s volunteer page, and for more information, reach out to volunteers@westnh.org or call 416-532-4828 EXT. 171.
If you’d like to learn more about the organization and their goals for the future, they’ve created a detailed strategy plan that you can review. WNH also released their 2025-2026 annual report if you’d like to learn what they got up to last year.
