Where to find clean and accessible washrooms in Toronto

Accessing public washrooms shouldn’t have to be hard. This washroom map makes sure it’s not.

There’s nothing worse than finding yourself walking outside your neighbourhood and realizing you really need to use a washroom. Maybe you’ve chugged your bubble tea too fast, or you’ve just finished picnicking in Christie Pitts and had too much lemonade. You desperately don’t want to spend another $7 on an iced matcha to use the washroom at a local coffee shop, but you also can’t wait 10 more minutes.

We know how important accessible and free washrooms are. That’s why we created our Utilities Map, which shows you spots for public washrooms and free Wi-Fi around the city. Thanks to The Green Line reader Alison Pope, we’re now aware of another Toronto washroom map: GottaGoTO. Launched in 2021 by Derek Pokora in collaboration with Toronto Public Space Committee and TOToiletCodes, GottaGoTO is a washroom advocacy mapping initiative that aims to make Toronto’s public washrooms more accessible with a digital map of public locations around the city.

Visit gottagoto.wordpress.com for an extensive map of Toronto’s public washrooms the next time you’re out and really need to go. Use the sidebar to search a street name, subway stop or neighbourhood to find a washroom nearest you. Each washroom type — building, library, or portable toilet — is indicated with its own icon.
