Video night: Looking to share your favourite TikTok or music video in a room of strangers? Then join On Task Studio on May 15 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for Video Show and Tell night. For the price of $15, or PWYC, relive watching the MuchMusic countdown or America’s Funniest Videos reruns. Just make sure your clip is around three minutes, sign up, and enjoy! There will also be prizes for funniest video, most emotional, audience favourite and more, so make sure to bring your very best.
mad talent show
Mad talent show: Calling all MAD (Mad, Disabled, Neurodivergent) folks to bask in the artistic talents of like-minded folks. Hosted by the AMY Project and Radical Mess art collective, head over to Evergreen Brickworks or catch the stream online on May 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. for the “Our story isn’t over yet” showcase.
Crafting DND characters
Crafting DND characters: Are you a beginner, queer Dungeons and Dragons player who wants help workshopping their character? Then head over to Three Dollar Bill on May 17 to bond with fellow beginner DND-ers to bring your character to life, with the help of host DeVery Bess.
Poetry Open Mic
Poetry open mic: Join Mixed Metals for their monthly poetry night on May 19. Sign up to take the mic at Danu Social House at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 8 p.m. All Mixed Metals shows start with a feature, this month being poet Sacha Archer, followed by all who sign up. Tickets are $10 or PWYC, which you can pay on the night of.
