Not sure what to do in the city after the FIFA World Cup?

Masked dance night

Masked dance night: Are you an avid masker looking to connect with fellow masking cuties on the dance floor? Organized by Masc Bloc Toronto and Safe Air Collective, enjoy an enchanted forest-themed dance party on July 24 where there’s filtered air, mandatory masking and some free sip valves, if needed. To wrap up Disability Pride month, head over to Society Clubhouse from 8 to 11:30 p.m. for a night of masked fun. Don’t forget to sign up for PWYC tickets here.

Queer card night

Queer card night: Learn the ropes of the paired card game Euchre while meeting queer strangers at Glad Day. On July 25 from 8 p.m., play and chat with new queer friends as you try to best the pair you’re up against. Tickets range from $9 to $24 and the night will start with a demonstration, so if you’re new to the game there’s time to learn.

Skate and donate

Skate and donate: Join The Melanin Skate Crew for their six-year anniversary skate party and fundraiser. From 3 to 8 p.m. on July 25, head over to McCowan District Park for an afternoon of BBQ, raffles, skate lessons and more to help the group continue making skating in the city accessible and affordable.

Solar print party

Solar print party: As part of The Vermin magazine’s summer programming, join artist Gabrielle Tyrie to learn how to make your very own cyanotype print. Hosted at The Artist Studio, learn how to transform photographs into baby blue prints powered by the sun from 2 to 4 p.m. on July 26. Tickets are going for $27.96, so snag yours ASAP!

Also, if you’re a film nerd or just looking for free events to chill with friends, then make sure to check out the countless outdoor cinemas happening around the city.

There’s, of course, the Toronto Outdoor Picture Show, which hosts film nights at Christie Pitts, Bell Manor Park and Corktown Common. But it doesn’t stop there; various organizations and BIAs in the city are hosting their own. Just off the top of my head, there’s TIFF at David Pecault Square, Make Waves at Kew Gardens, Harbourfront Centre’s summer of iconic musicals and much more.

Just search up your favourite park (or even beach) in the city and see if they’re hosting outdoor film screenings. If you’re lucky, you might even snag some free popcorn, depending on the location. So get there early to check!
