Let’s go shopping: Support local designers and consignment sellers when adding to your closet at this year’s spring edition of Polyester Plus’ Plus Size Market. Held at Cecil Community Centre on April 19, this Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m., this is the perfect time to get some cute summer pieces. It doesn’t just stop at clothes; there’s always cute trinkets, stickers, prints and more to nab while you’re there.

Get your thread on: Looking to get into fibre arts? Look no further than Workman Arts’ workshop series in collaboration with Scarborough Arts. Whether you want to dive deep into South Asian embroidery styles or learn Indigenous beading techniques, make sure to apply by April 20 for either of these programs. Scarborough residents have priority, and note that the beading classes will be held in person.

CHANNEL YOUR INNER POP STAR

Channel your inner pop star: Have you been bothering all your friends with Mariah Carey and Slayyyter deep cuts? Give them a break and bring your best tracks to the Queer Open Mic at Three Dollar Bill starting at 7 p.m. on April 22. Entry is free, so just bring you, your friends, and oodles of confidence to sing the house down to whatever your heart desires. Whether you’re channelling Tracy Chapman or Kim Petras, all pop personas are welcome.

STOP BY THE SUPERMARKET

Stop by the Supermarket: Go grocery shopping with a twist with the three-day pop-up, Supermarket, from April 24 to 26. This food art-themed pop-up not only has trinkets, prints and more to buy, it also doubles as a food donation drive with various drop-in activities and games. Held at Story Planet, entry is free and hours vary, so make sure to check out the Instagram flyer for details.

CRAFT YOUR HEART OUT

Craft your heart out: Try out an all-you-can-craft buffet brought to you by Open Studio, at their pop-up location in the basement of 302 Spadina Ave. Sign up for a three-hour block anytime until April 26th and enjoy all of Open Task Studio’s supplies and tools for $25.
