It’s time you switch up from your usual date night spots and try The Green Line’s curated Line 5 list.
TikTok user Jk_n asked us if we could make a list of ideas for date night, but along Line 5.
Here are our suggestions focusing on arts and culture, parks and cafés for those chill, but fun date activities.
Arts & culture: If you’re more of an arts fan and want to discover new and underrated local artists with your date, then Nia Centre for the Arts is the perfect spot to visit, just a short walk from Oakwood station. There’s also the Aga Khan Museum, which is a short bus ride away from Don Mills. Both arts spaces offer the occasional workshop, so keep your eyes on their websites and socials for updates.
Parks: Enjoy the outdoors with Toronto’s public parks. If you’re a Leaside local, then Sunnybrook Park has more than enough space to go for a walk, get to know your date and more. On the west end of Line 5 is Keesedale North and South Park. Those parks are perfect for the baseball fans in your life.
Cafés: If you’re looking for a spot to get a latte and a quick bite to eat while scoring on bargain deals (because date night doesn’t have to break the bank), then make sure to visit Art Cafe located at Merchant’s Flea Market, just a short walk from the Golden Mile stop. By the Mount Pleasant stop is The Coffee Bar @ The Harp, where you can enjoy the vibes of an Irish pub for coffee and tea. A four-minute walk from the Forrest Hill station is Cafe On The Hill, a fair-trade, carbon-neutral café. Enjoy bubble tea with treats like spanokopita, a full cocktail menu in the evening and depending on the night, you can catch the occasional sports viewing or event.
