Get crafty in your community with Supernova Crafts!
Supernova, a café located in Broadview North (897 Broadview Ave.), has always had a DIY spirit and welcoming atmosphere since opening about six years ago.
“We wanted this to become a community space and later exchange knowledge,” over the cafe’s large tables, said Supernova co-founder Kavi, who prefers to go by her artist name.
Kavi said the café has always had a strong community that’s always changing.
“A lot of people initially started to come to craft night from that café crew; however, I think what’s really beautiful is that it immediately spread through word of mouth,” she said.
Livi Stillar, co-founder of Supernova Crafts, visits the café to craft and work remotely. She found it amazing that she and Kavi met at the perfect time to start craft nights together.
“We wanted it to be as open, free and accessible to everyone, regardless of craft,” Stillar explains. “It’s so magical when we’re all in the room.”
The next craft night is on Sunday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Christ Church Toronto (883 Broadview Ave.) — right next to the café. You can expect another evening of crafting chaos, chatting and snacks.
