Celebrate the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Filipino Heritage Month this June.
The Integrated Filipino Canadian Nurses Association (IFCNA) will be at the Filipino Community Day celebration on Saturday, June 6, and they’re looking for volunteers.
The event takes place at Earl Bales Park (4169 Bathurst St.) in the Lansing-Westgate neighbourhood from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can register for the event by filling out the form.
But, if you’re looking to help IFCNA, they said they need volunteers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, according to their callout post.
IFCNA provides opportunities for professional growth, cultural integration and community support.
“We achieve this through mentorship programs, networking opportunities, and advocacy, ensuring our members thrive in the Canadian healthcare system,” IFCNA says on its website.

On the day of, you can eat potluck style, compete in a sports festival where you can participate in a Labba race (a traditional basket balancing game), do Kadang-Kadang (a racing game on stilts), engage in a friendly game of tug of war and more.
