Catch a local art fair or explore the jungle gym with your kids at the picturesque Wychwood Barns Park.

Walking down Davenport Road or St. Clair Avenue West, you'll mostly hear English interspersed with some Portuguese, Cantonese and Greek.

Although less populated by immigrants compared to Toronto in general, Wychwood has restaurants like the global cuisine fusion spot AVIV Immigrant Kitchen and brunch destination Emma’s Country Kitchen.

Wychwood is not only for the foodie looking for an underrated ice cream shop or Italian-style bars — it’s also a haven for the hobbyist. From fibre arts-related shop Knit-O-Matic to the three-decades-old stained glass studio Art Zone Glass, this neighbourhood is a great stop for niche and overlooked art practices you’ve never thought to try.

It may not be the flashiest part of Old Toronto, but Wychwood makes up for it in style and warmth.
