The lush South Eglinton-Davisville is where TTC's yellow line glides into Toronto’s midtown area.
The neighbourhood offers greenery in spades, motivating busy residents to take a convenient walk from Davisville to Eglinton stations to avoid crammed shuttle buses, or encouraging nature lovers want to go on a scenic stroll down the Kay Gardiner Beltline Trail.
Mount Pleasant Cemetery is a fan favourite among the locals we spoke to in this video, especially for those in the mood for a picturesque stroll. It’s common to see Davisville residents out for a jog, walking the dog, or biking through the cemetery, Beltline trail, or any of the local parks in and on the periphery of the neighbourhood.Â
Davisville is also far from the steely core of the city. Located further north in midtown, it's home to friendly residents. Despite having significantly more single-person households than other neighbourhoods Toronto, locals told us that Davisville is connected and neighbourly. An employee of HotBlack Coffee shared that locals are keen to get to know their local businesses and other regulars that frequent these spaces.
Still, multiple people in our video say Davisville is a particularly expensive place to live. In the words of one local resident, affordable housing has become an oxymoron here, and suggests providing more low-cost housing options.
