If you're looking for fun and free indoor activities to do this winter, this guide's for you.
Toronto's snow season can be harsh, especially when the winter blues hit you. But you don't have to freeze or pay ridiculous amounts to get yourself out of the house.
With a Toronto Public Library card, you can score free tickets to some of the city's most popular indoor attractions, including Ripley's Aquarium of Canada and the Aga Khan Museum. You can also get free tickets to dance shows, orchestras and plays.
Watch our video, below, as we walk you through the steps to sign up.
First things first, get yourself a library card. You'll need to visit any TPL branch and provide a current and valid ID. You can check accepted forms of identification here. Remember, you'll need to renew your card every year, and you can do so online once you're registered.
Once you have your card, here's how you can reserve a pass.
- Step 1: Wait till 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.
- Step 2: Search up TPL:Map, then click on "Reserve a pass." Here, you put in your library card number and your pin.
- Step 3: Choose the attraction you'd like to visit.
- Step 4: Select the date you want and click "Continue."
The pass will be sent to your email. If you can't make it anymore, you can cancel your reservation if you haven't downloaded and printed it yet. Once you print or download your pass, you can’t cancel.
